Tanzania Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a non-profit, autonomous organization whose membership is voluntary. It is a company limited by guarantee without share capital. The Chamber however, maintains strong links with Government and works very closely with private sector organizations
Requirements to be a member of Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture :
The Chamber Membership is categorized as the following three categories:-
Ordinary Membership: Ordinary Membership is open to individuals or businesses that fulfill membership requirements.An Ordinary member has voting rights and can vote up to the Regional/District level and pays 60,000/- Tsh.
Affiliated Membership: A membership that is open to all associations. An Affiliate member is adopted on recommendation by The Board of Directors and has powers to vote and can be voted to the executive of Chamber. Each association is entitled to one vote; these pay a one-time registration fee of 50,000 TSH and an annual subscription of 500,000 TSH and 1,000,000 TSH depending on the size and financial capacity of a particular association.
Corporate Membership: A membership which is open to multinational companies or any local companies (all institutions, commercial industrial, or mining firms, partnerships, co-operative societies, private companies with limited liability, public companies and statutory bodies conducting business in Tanzania) with a national coverage or a network of branches.
